You won't know till you've tried it!It's been a long hiatus over here. Too happy with twittering to have almost forgotten about my blog over here.
Anyway, life has been pretty mundane, with work and the usual stuff bogging me down.
But now, it's the September holidays, so I finally have time to scribble some thoughts again.
I always believe... that no matter what others tell you, unless you have really tried it yourself, otherwise it is seeminly impossible to simply take another person's word.
At least, it applies to me.
Been reading reviews in forums saying that Sapporo is quite a small place that I should be able to finish within 2 days. Many are suggesting Hakodate. In fact, I am getting rather inclined to head for Hakodate too. But, I think I want a relaxed and slow trip this time. Much as I know 6 days alone for Sapporo/Otaru seems pretty much more than enough, but I guess I just don't want to take the risk of having a packed trip.
Or maybe I would change my mind and head for Hakodate eventually, but I hope I won't. Spending 1 or 2 days in Hakodate won't be enough for me to explore the place thoroughly, and it certainly will give me lesser time to see Sapporo too. Hence, I am going to just stick to my original plans and see what lies in store for me!
Like I said, you won't know what you've got yourself into until you've tried it!
Anyway, I caught Coco Before Chanel today! Like finally.
The pace of the movie was rather slow for most part of the show, and then it suddenly escalated into Coco/Gabrielle becoming a famous fashion designer. I thought the show was pretty badly connected in this part. There was little explanation of the transition Coco went through after Boy died, or how she eventually became famous. AND, there was no mentioning of the most famous Chanel No. 5?! All in all, I was pretty disappointed in the movie. I thought it could do better, although Audrey Tautou's rendition of Coco was pretty good.
I like catching movies, and I think it's extremely unfortunate that I never seem to have time for movies most of the time. Watching movies gives me an experience totally different from reading a book. Usually, I prefer to read a book only after watching the movie, because if the movie had been able to capture my heart, then I believe the book should be a good read. However, for movies, I always try to watch them without expectations, and then hope to leave the theatre with something I learnt from the movie. So far, the next movie that I am really keen on watching would be The Time Traveller's Wife. Am really resisting the urge to get the novel first, because I hope to have an unbiased opinion when watching the movie.
Heading off to bed soon. =)
