And so I ate and ate...I have been eating way too much during the holidays, I think I am growing into the size of a rolly polly, that is if I am still not one yet.
Had pasta and wine with my friends at Pasta de Waruka last week, then Japanese food again yesterday, and today I went yum cha with my mom.
Tsk tsk! And I foresee more good food again this weekend when I hit Sentosa with the besties.
Oh, and I want to get braces plus contact lenses. Haha.

randomBeen updating very irregularly.
Holidays are spent... reading, gaming, watching television and sleeping in, waking up late.
With no plans for the holidays, I am thinking of coming up with a schedule of when and what to do.
Maybe I should sign up for yoga classes as well, since I have the spare time now. Or perhaps I should just go jogging on my own to save money, haha.
But I guess human beings are just contradictory.
Much as I am enjoying the laidback relaxed life of the holidays, I feel pretty unmotivated and lackadaisical. It's like there's no pushing factor in life to make you move ahead, and being stagnant makes me feels pretty tiring at times. Maybe I shall just plan for 2008.
Was surfing forums randomly recently when I came across something which I want to share. Gurmit Singh was nominated for Best Male Artiste for the Hong Kong Golden Horse award and there were people saying he did not deserve the nominations and how could he even compete for the same award as Tony Leung Chiu Wai. Then someone pointed out Tony Leung started off with comedy movies and slipshod roles, but others begin to insist even in those roles, he had carried himself well.
This led me thinking... maybe when we are biased against something, we only see the good points of that and simply neglect or pretend the flaws do not exist. When we like something/somebody,we tend to accept the flaws and everything. However, when it is the other way round, the flaws are magnified and everything about it seems not right. Maybe truly in human beings, we are just biased, just like the heart's never in the middle but on the left side of the human anatomy.
Anyway, back to the topic, I feel that perhaps Gurmit Singh's rendition of his role in the movie Just Follow Law might not have been the best display of his acting abilities, but to be nominated means Singaporean films are finally being recognised by movie makers worldwide. At least, it gives us Singaporean one more achievement to be happy about.

Plans for the holidaysFor the first time since I started working, I actually have NO plans for this holidays!
Usually I try to get out of Singapore for at least a couple of days, but this December holidays, I am only staying in Singapore and going nowhere but Singapore! :)
Shall fully utilise this December holidays to recharge myself, plan my work for year 2008, unpack my stuff at the new/original campus, catch up with friends for gatherings and do more of my favourite stuff!
Only four more days before I am officially off for the break.

Achievement of the day...
...was to prepare steamboat dinner for the besties, myself and Nobi!
Although it ain't any big feast, but for someone who doesn't step into the kitchen that often, I am quite pleased with the results for today.
But boy, it's so tiring to prepare food, have a good time with your guests/friends, send them off and having to DO THE DISHES! Don't we just wish that everything ends with saying Goodbye and then we can all head to bed? Sadly no, and it would be a disaster if the dishes were chucked till the next day. At least now, kitchen's clean, dishes's done, no worries. :)
Anyway, I made dessert for them too. Yuzu konnyaku jellies, hehehe. Received raves from the besties and they
da bao-ed more jellies home.
I feel pretty proud of myself... I gave myself a challenge of preparing a meal for my friends and I succeeded! Everyone had a great time, and I am happy too, despite losing money in Mahjong! Hehehe.
Parents are finally coming back tomorrow! Though they were only away for a while, but I guess I did display my inert domesticated side and managed quite well. At least I think I fared better than they would have guessed, haha!

Isn't it great...if there's winter in Singapore?
Then we can all be decked in lovely trench coats and boots, with matching gloves and scarves, or maybe even ear muffs. We will look all so lovely, like we just stepped out from fairytales, and during the holidays, we can all go out and make cute snowmen.
During Christmas, it will be indeed a white Christmas, families will cuddle together, sipping hot cocoa as they awake the arrival of Santa.
Haha, all wishful thinking again.

A piece of good newsRecieved a piece of news from the best friend. A piece of good news I suppose. She's getting married next year. The first among the three of us to get hitched, it was kind of a surprised to the other two of us.
Nonetheless, we are still very happy for her, except perhaps for the fact that we felt she could have deserved someone better.
Still, I guess I learnt something... different people have different standards and expectations.

HolidaysDon't we all just love holidays?
Except for the short invigilation duties + meetings, I practically get to do nothing all day long.
I just love the extra personal time I have for myself now, to read my books, visit the library, go shopping with the bestie, watch television and all stuff totally unrelated to WORK.
Attended a chalet on Wednesday, it was fun, especially the "Murderer game" where I kept getting "killed", splurging on yummy Nasi Lemak and Ben n Jerry ice cream, and the funny "truth or dare" session. But I think the most stupid thing I said was the LAN game thing, hahaha. Argh, I just wish I could go back to Secondary school days.
