CIP for teachersI think many students have this misconception that only students need to do CIP (Community Involvment Programme) whereas teachers usually just supervise them and that's it. But actually that's not true, for teachers are required to do CIP as well, and it's compulsory to clock up six hours per year.
Having actually done CIP once back in the ex school, I was once again assigned to do CIP sometime last week by the new school. This time round, we were sent to Pasir Ris Beach to pick litter. -_-"
Imagine a bunch of not-so-young-people, well dressed, walking around in a group in Pasir Ris Beach on a lazy Tuesday afternoon picking up litter. I think had we donned the orange vest, people might just jolly well think we are doing our CWO (Corrective Work Order). Anyway, it was a scorching hot afternoon, but whilst doing our CIP of picking up litter (actually there wasn't that MUCH litter either), I took the chance to snap around and admire the lesser seen view of Singapore.
Some of the pictures I took. =)

As I was happily snapping the pictures, I realised that it's really been a while since I visited Pasir Ris beach. What a vast difference from the time when I was in my secondary school/ JC days, where I would sometimes pop by with friends to just hang out or laze around, chat about things under the world. Sigh, indeed it seems that life during schooling days seem so much more carefree and relaxed.
BUT, nonetheless, I am glad I was "forced" to embark upon this journey of life, for had I not passed through the phase of schooling life and moved on to working life, I would probably never have fully understood and appreciate what I had back then.
Indeed, things happen for a reason. =)
